Volunteer Opportunities
at the Stark County Dog Warden Division
New volunteers are required to be 18 years of age, attend a volunteer orientation (typically held twice a month on Saturdays, or you can contact Carrie for an individual appointment), and sign a waiver. Once all of these are in, Carrie will pair you with a more experienced volunteer to help you.
Volunteers
The Dog Walking Team is an all-volunteer group that serves under the authority of the Stark County Commissioners/Stark County Sheriff Dog Warden Department. These volunteers are vital to the dogs who count on them for 100% of their exercise, socialization, and playtime outside. When we walk, play, and groom the dogs, we let them know they have not been forgotten. Please consider joining the team.
All volunteers will participate in an orientation program before beginning their work at the Pound. Orientations are held at the facility, days vary, and private orientations can be scheduled also.
Please sign up for your orientation by sending an email to [email protected].
Other ways you can help!
Friends of Stark Pound also have the following volunteer opportunities available:
• Fundraising
• Community Outreach
• Volunteer services for events held at the pound
• Transporting dogs to the vet or another rescue organization
• Fostering adopted dogs awaiting transport by rescues.
If you want to volunteer with Friends of Stark Pound, please email Carrie.
Thanks for your interest in the homeless dogs at the Stark County Sherriff Dog Warden Department!
