“When I started volunteering almost four years ago, NEVER in my wildest dreams would I have imagined the difference a few dedicated people could make in the lives of homeless dogs.” – Margie Serri
Friends of the Pound is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce the population of homeless dogs at the Stark County Dog Warden Department by providing funding for spay/neuter procedures and basic veterinary care, while educating the public on the importance of adoption and responsible pet ownership. Friends of the Pound operates in cooperation with the Stark County Dog Warden’s staff to significantly enhance the quality of life for the homeless puppies and dogs and to increase their opportunities for placement through adoptions or rescue groups. Friends of the Pound is extremely grateful for the continuous support and involvement of our community.
The public is encouraged to visit the Pound to view the dogs that are currently available for adoption. For your convenience Friends of the Pound posts photos and limited information about the dogs on the petfinder.com website.
